Malmesbury Singers, Athenaeum Singers

Thomas Mottishead is known for his energetic, engaging and humorous rehearsals. Thomas is currently Musical Director of The Malmesbury Singers in Malmesbury, The Athenaeum Singers in Warminster and Cheltenham Choral Society in Cheltenham and Artistic Director of the Prometheus Consort. He has also acted as an Animateur and Chorus Master (Youth Opera) for Welsh National Opera.

Thomas is the Co-Founder of Cardiff Opera and, in Summer 2021, conducted several sold-out performances of Mozart’s ‘Le nozze di Figaro’. Thomas has conducted in venues such as St. Peter’s Basilica (Vatican City), St. Paul’s Cathedral (London) and in other countries such as Spain, America and China. 

BMus (Hons), MMus, PGCE, Sir Geraint Evans Award

Thomas Mottershead holds a BMus (Hons) from Cardiff University and the University of New Hampshire (USA), a Distinction in his MMus in Choral Conducting from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and a PGCE in Secondary Music from the University of Cambridge. During his studies, Thomas received the Fujisawa Male Voice Choir Award for Choral Conducting whilst at RWCMD for two consecutive years, and the Sir Geraint Evans Award for highest mark in a voice recital from Cardiff University.

APOLLO5

Thomas, tenor, is a member of APOLLO5, a critically acclaimed vocal ensemble based in London who tour all over the world. The group perform concerts all around the UK, throughout Europe and further afield including the USA.
